Sam Lauersdorf, owner of Sam Lauersdorf Photography recently celebrated a milestone birthday. On April 10th, she turned 30! Having previously seen a "Death to 20's" photoshoot theme on Pinterest, she knew she wanted to give it a go of her own. Armed with flowers and black balloons, she dawned a black dress and headed to a local historic cemetery. The plan was to also incorporate smoke bombs, but unfortunately unseasonably windy weather had other plans.
Though Sam is no stranger to taking self portraits (Check out her exquisite landscape work incorporating her and her husband using a tripod and self timer!), for this adventure she enlisted the help of her mother. Choosing the camera settings and directing posing, angles, and framing of the shots, Sam and Cindy worked together to create the images you see here. All were lightly edited by Sam in Lightroom. The magic of golden hour lighting sprinkled the images with a kiss of drama and mystery.
